Our sun will form a white dwarf, a remnant of 60% of Earth's size from the original mass. In the case of compact objects such as white dwarfs, neutron stars, and black holes, the gas in the inner regions becomes so hot that it will emit vast amounts of radiation (mainly X-rays), which may be detected by telescopes. Less massive stars will eject its outer layers and then will collapse inside, forming white dwarfs, neutron stars or black holes.
